The foundation for public health focuses on three core functions: assessment, policy development, and assurance. As our knowledge and needs change within our community, the Peoria County Board of Health recognizes the importance of establishing positions and policies that support the mission of the Health Department:
Through the effective, efficient use of resources, we engage, educate, and regulate to promote health, prevent disease, and provide for a safe environment.
The goal of the position statements is to engage dialogue, educate the public and stakeholders, and support policies and regulations to improve the health of Peoria County residents.
